U.S. Army Deserter Wins New Hearing on Refugee Status (Update1) (Bloomberg.com)
July 4 (Bloomberg) -- A U.S. Army deserter, who was denied Canadian refugee status in 2006, won a new hearing before the country's immigration board when a federal judge ruled the initial decision that refugee status can only be granted to soldiers who are forced to commit war crimes is too restrictive.
